Pickle is a much loved, homebred pup at Chanderhill. She was born in June 2018; the daughter of our UK Show Champion bitch, Ria, and of our dog, Pato.

At the age of just 12 weeks, Pickle was Best Puppy in Match, out of a total entry of 18 puppies, at the Yew Tree Canine Society Match Night.

Pickle then made her show debut at the Leuven International Dog Show in Belgium in October 2018, where at the tender age of just 4 months she won Best Baby Puppy in Breed. She then went on to also be Best Baby Puppy in Breed the following month at the International Dog Show of Malaga in the breed’s homeland of Spain.

Pickle made her UK Show debut at LKA in December 2018, when at the age of just 6 months, she won the Minor Puppy Bitch class. She has since gone on to win 1 Best of Breed & 3 Best Puppy in Breeds at Championship Show level. This includes being the Crufts Best Puppy in Breed in March 2019!

Pickle was then also awarded the Reserve Kennel Club Challenge Certificate at the Bath Canine Society Championship Show in May 2019 and on her first birthday became the youngest SWD in history to qualify for the Kennel Club’s Junior Warrant Award. This has since been overtaken by Lola who achieved her Junior Warrant at just nine months of age.

One of Pickle’s finest hours to date was undoubtedly in June 2019, when at the age of just 12 months, she won the Junior Bitch Class at the European Dog Show in Wels to claim the title European Junior Winner!

Since then it has got even better for Pickle. In October 2019, she really excelled herself at the prestigious Talavera De La Reina dog shows in Spain, being awarded the Reserve CAC (Reserve Obligatory Point) at the International Exhibition of Otono and becoming the first UK bred dog to pass the Spanish Breed Club’s Character and Natural Aptitude Test (the TCAN).
